Ford Transit Custom box-type short wheelbase

Here you see a box-type van, quasi naked. The plastic through, very nice for dirty gear, and the wooden covers on the side panels are optional equipment.  So you will not see every Little bump as a dent in the sheet metal.

Pros and cons:

+ much of space

+ nothing to dismount

- spartan

- This version does not have a 12V-plug in the storage compartment. You will need the additional battery box for the water supply.

What has to be disassembled?

Nothing because there is nothing in it.

Assembly and securing

It is best to use the unit with the adjustable feet. The plastic through is stable and the rubber pads under the adjustable feet prevent the unit from sliding around and you will not get scratches on the ground.

The unit is fixed with two straps on the left. Additionaly it is recommended to have a third securing strap on the right side close to the bottom.

Here we used the two fixing points on the left close to the ground.

Set up the bed

In a box-type van you will need all delivered poles for arraging the lying surfaces.

It is possible to keep the single bed built all the time and mount the second surface just when you need it.

What else fits beside the unit?

This is a box-type van and in this special case with headroom. There is a lot of space! Your are not restricted with gear for different board sports. Beside the single bed is easily space for two bicycles.

If you orient the unit to the right side, you get space above the left rear wheel box for a sail- or surfboard plus the room under the right lying surface. You might adjust the feet to a free height of 62 cm below this surface.

In this vehicle it is no problem to travel with  a motocross bike.
